WHAT WE OFFER
THE DROP-IN PROGRAM
YAP meets Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at Glencoe Youth Services, located at 680 Greenwood Avenue in Glencoe. We’re a block west of downtown Glencoe and accessible by train and bus.The youth center offers a warm and welcoming environment with many recreational activities, including pool, ping-pong, computers, video and board games, movies, and TV.
We’re also adjacent to playing fields, and when the weather permits, we can go out and toss a Frisbee, play Bocce Ball, or have a barbecue.
Ask any of the “Yappers,” though, and they’ll say that it’s the opportunity to be with old friends and make new ones that makes YAP truly special.
OUTINGS
YAP members meet monthly to suggest programs and plan activities. Some of our outings include trips to restaurants, movies, museums, the Renaissance Faire, concerts, bookstores, coffee houses, and sporting events.
GUEST SPEAKERS
Whatever the interest, whatever the need, we find guest speakers to come by and talk about most anything that’s suggested. Recent presentations have covered topics such as health, nutrition, film, dating, books, and World War II.
